A favourite dining out experience for many families is the Rainforest Café. When a more realistic exotic adventure is not possible, an hour surrounded by thunderstorms, elephants, and grunting gorillas is a nice diversion from the urban day-to-day. Known for its fun and entertaining ambiance, it is always an interesting place to eat for kids or the young at heart.
The kid friendly restaurant is at times very busy and visitors may have to wait to be seated. Reservations are recommended on Fridays and weekends. However, even waiting to be seated can be fun at the Rainforest Café: there is both a huge fish tank with exotic fish and a large crocodile at the front of the restaurant.
Once seated, take a look around. Heads of animals stick out of the walls, there is a ceiling with shooting stars, a waterfall with Atlas carrying the world on his shoulders, and multiple fish tanks with exotic fish throughout the restaurant.
As for the food, there is a variety of dishes, exotic drinks, and smoothies to choose from. For those with adventuresome appetites, there is a massive “volcano” dessert any family will find challenging to finish. The prices of the meals are a little on the pricey side, but this is most certainly a result of the ambiance. In other words, you are paying for the scenery.
So if you want to have dinner or lunch that is a little out of the ordinary, visit the Rainforest Café. As well, when you are done eating, you can do some shopping or check out a movie; it is all in the mall.
